Do you accept Cardinal Care / Virginia Medicaid?
Yes. Lunar Dental is in-network with Cardinal Care for both adults and children. Same dentist, same chair, same workflow as patients with private PPO insurance. Read more about Cardinal Care at Lunar Dental →
What insurance do you accept?
In-network with Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, MetLife, most other major PPOs, and Virginia Medicaid (Cardinal Care). Out-of-network with United Concordia and Principal — we file the claims for you. Self-pay patients also welcome.
What happens at a new-patient visit?
About 60 minutes: paperwork (online before arrival when possible), digital x-rays, full periodontal exam, cleaning, oral cancer screen, and a care-planning conversation with Dr. Zan. You leave with a written priority list of what's urgent and what can wait.
Do you offer same-day crowns?
Yes. Lunar Dental uses a chairside CAD/CAM mill (Glidewell fastmill.io) and intraoral scanner (iTero Lumina) to design and fabricate many crowns in a single 1.5–2 hour visit. Most crowns range $1,200–$1,800; insurance typically covers 50% after deductible.
