Dr. Zan Pervaiz
“I started Lunar Dental because too many patients have told me the same story: ‘I just want one dentist who can do it all, who doesn’t rush me, and who tells me what something costs before I’m in the chair.’ That’s the practice I built.”
Dr. Zan owns and operates Lunar Dental as the sole dentist. He sees every patient personally — there is no rotation, no associate hand-off, no day where you get a different doctor than the one you booked with. That accountability is the whole point of the practice.
The practice is built around a fully digital workflow — intraoral scanning, 3D CBCT imaging, chairside milling, and 3D printing — so most treatments stay in this practice instead of being referred out. Patients get fewer visits, less time off work, and one dentist who knows their whole mouth.

Why Lunar exists
The practice we wanted to find — so we built it.
Most dental practices in northern Virginia are either large group practices that route you through three doctors and four front-desk staff before a crown ever happens, or boutique cosmetic studios that won't take your insurance. We weren't interested in either path. Lunar Dental is the third way: one dentist, modern technology, honest pricing, and an open door for Cardinal Care patients.
That last part is uncommon in this corridor. As of mid-2026, most private practices within ten miles of Gainesville do not accept adult Cardinal Care. We do — for the same reason we do everything else here: it's the right thing, the patients exist, and it's the kind of practice we want to run.
Dr. Zan opened this location in 2023 and rebuilt the brand as Lunar Dental in 2026. Same chair, same dentist, same care — just a name that matches what the practice has become.

iTero Lumina
Intraoral scanner. Replaces putty impressions for crowns, aligners, retainers, sleep appliances. No goop, no gag, more accurate fits.
Glidewell fastmill.io
Chairside CAD/CAM mill. Carves crowns from a solid block of zirconia or lithium disilicate in 20–30 minutes. Most crowns finish same-day.
Vatech Green CT2
Cone-beam CT (3D imaging). Lets us plan implant placement, root anatomy, and complex extractions in three dimensions — not guess from a 2D x-ray.
SprintRay Pro 95S
3D printer. Surgical guides, custom trays, nightguards, retainers. Reduces lab turnaround and chair time for follow-up visits.
